1. Google and YouTube Data Access

Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation requests access to Google user data strictly through official Google OAuth 2.0 authorization flows. When an authorized administrator connects a YouTube channel, Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation requests the following minimum required scopes:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload — Permits uploading video binaries and setting video metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, and privacy settings) for videos explicitly generated within Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation.
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly — Permits reading channel identity information (Channel ID and Channel Name) to verify the connected channel and confirm publisher readiness.

Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation does not request or access private user messages, personal contacts, financial data, or non-YouTube Google account services.

2. Storage and Protection of Credentials

OAuth tokens obtained through Google authorization are stored on secured application servers. We maintain strict technical safeguards to protect stored access and refresh tokens:

  • Tokens are scoped per brand identity and isolated on disk.
  • Tokens are accessed exclusively by background publishing modules to perform authorized publishing routines.
  • Private API credentials and secrets are kept confidential and are never exposed in user interfaces or public API responses.

3. How We Use YouTube Data

Google/YouTube data accessed by Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation is used solely for the following operational purposes:

  • Verifying the identity and status of authorized YouTube channels.
  • Uploading and publishing user-approved video content.
  • Reconciling publication status and maintaining brand publishing history within Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation.

Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation does not sell, rent, or trade Google user data to third parties. We do not use YouTube API data for advertising or tracking across third-party websites.

4. Account Disconnection and Token Removal

Users maintain full control over YouTube channel connections:

  • Disconnection via Platform: Clicking "Disconnect YouTube" within the brand settings immediately unlinks the channel and permanently deletes the local OAuth token file from our server.
  • Revocation via Google: Users may revoke access at any time through Google Account Security Settings.

Hidden Chronicles YouTube Automation employs industry-standard security protocols, including HTTPS encryption for all web traffic, restrictive file permissions, and environment variable isolation for system credentials.
